This Foundation course will allow me to research and analyse photos in depth and to develop a more sophisticated critical and contextual understanding and appreciation of the different genres within the history of photography.
The SLR camera consists of various features which enable it to create an effective outcome. First is the plastic or metal casing which is light proof thus stops the film inside the camera from being exposed, protecting it. The aperture inside the lens that contains a small hole that allows light in for small periods of time once the the photo is being taken. The shutter mechanism works with lens and is a series of overlapping blades that let light in through the aperture for a precise amount of time before closing again. The SLR camera also consist of one or more lenses in front of the shutter, this aspect of the camera is very important as it does several jobs at once. They not only scale down larger incoming images of the world so it can fit into smaller film, the lenses concentrate the incoming light energy so that the image forms on the film quicker thus this allows the camera to be used in darker conditions. The lenses also bring the light rays into a sharp focus so that the outcome is clear and sharp. Lastly, the SLR camera contains the film roll which is where the photos previously captured are taken and what you develop into larger photographs. |
